First off, tell us about your role!

My role as lighting, video and SFX supervisor consists of a range of skill sets and responsibilities . It’s my job to install, maintain, fix, programme and operate the lighting rig, LED walls and SFX equipment.

It has a nice blend of physical work along side technical and creative input that allows you to embed yourself within the venue and become and integral part to the shows. I have the freedom to put my stamp on things and try my best to do something different than what’s been done before.

I really enjoy my job, and looking out at a crowd and seeing people making memories together, and knowing I have been a part of facilitating that, bring me immense pride and joy. That being said, it’s a hot and sweaty place to be working, and comes with its own set of issues and challenges. Safe to say there is never a dull day and there’s always work to be done.

Happy, Hot, inspiring

DESCRIBE YOUR SUMMER IN 3 WORDS…

Favourite hidden gem in Ibiza

I really enjoy Yenuina, it’s a beautiful pasta restaurant that serves the most delicious food, and tiramisu that will change your life.

What’s been your favourite event at Ibiza Rocks this summer?

My favourite event has been the Ben Hemsley parties, I like the extra effort that goes into all the decor, having performers and dancers and the SFX. As a show I think it really stands out and you can feel that energy in the crowd, which really helps you get into doing your job and feel part of something special.

What’s your favourite event on the island?

I really enjoyed Worried about Henry at Eden, I saw some of my favourite artists there and had a real good wiggle!

Other than the parties, what will you miss most about Ibiza in the winter?

My friends, I met some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of calling my friends. I will carry them with me in my memories for the rest of my life and hopefully they will all be there next season.

Advice you’d give to someone applying to work for a role at Ibiza Rocks?

Do it! It’s a lovely place to work and a beautiful part of the world to spend time.

Advice you’d give to someone who’s interested in working a season in Ibiza?

Be open minded and embrace the challenge, you never know who or what is just around the corner, you don’t want to look back on life and regret not taking the leaps when you had the chance too!
