Step away from the glitz and glam of the best superclubs in the world and let us introduce you to the West End.
The infamous ‘San Antonio Strip’. Not to be confused with the stunning ‘sunset strip’, Ibiza’s main strip is a collection of streets in the west of the island, just off the waterfront with bars galore, kebab shops and of course many many holidaymakers.
Just a few minutes walk away from Ibiza Rocks Hotel, we spent a night down the West End and this is what we found out…
Yes, Ibiza is well known as a house and techno haven, but for those heading to the West End strip be prepared to be pleasantly surprised at the selection of music available.
Whether you’re after a throwback, getting down to the cheesiest 80s, 90s and noughties or slut dropping to the latest chart RnB, the offer is there. Trance, House, Pop and even Rock bars can be found all around the Spanish streets leaving no music taste short of options.
Think all those brightly coloured cocktails you can get at your local Wetherspoons and a selection of Sourz shots. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still be partial to the ‘3 for 15€’ offers or ‘10€ all you can drink happy hours’ – just get ready to sense the impending doom after your first sip.
It requires skill. You’ve just turned the corner and you can already see, hear and sense the ‘buzz’ from the top of the West End and all the people around.
Walking down the strip, be prepared to be stopped at every step, as each of the bars PR’s ready to hit you up with their best deals and offer to throw in some ‘freebies’ a.k.a. A bottle of 4% prosecco – it could always be worse.
Every street, every corner and in EVERY bar. Lit up like a less impressive Vegas, it gives the strip a bit of charming appeal with that real nostalgic holiday vibe shining through.
Each located opposite the bars, perfect for stumbling out of one and into the other at the end of the night – or if like us, as a mid-night ‘pitstop’.
We highly recommend some fried food, to help soak up the dozens of fishbowls you will have more than likely consumed – you will thank us the next morning.
Yes, Ibiza is the worlds party capital, with a selection of the worlds best clubs, biggest DJ residencies and almighty parties – However, if you’re looking for some cheesy tunes, somewhere for pre-drinks, or just somehow stumbled upon the strip then get ready for a good laugh.
