The newly crowned Ibiza Rocks Bar may only have re-opened last summer, as an amazing acoustic set from Pete Doherty heralded the start of the summer 2010 season, but the site on which the bar is based is steeped in moments of genre-defying history. As the original home of the Ibiza Rocks live gigs, it was largely responsible for reintroducing guitar based music to the island, and the likes of The Arctic Monkeys, The Fratellis, Kasabian, Babyshambles, The Editors and The Kaiser Chiefs have all performed on stage in the intimate environment of the open air bar under the Ibiza Rocks banner. Not only content with this, the list of DJ’s to grace the bar reads like a who’s who of dance music; Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Calvin Harris, Erol Alkan, Doorly and Eddie Halliwell have all made regular appearances and kept people dancing on it’s neon dancefloor until the early hours of the morning under the moonlit sky.
Inside of the bar can be found the Ibiza Rocks Diner, an open plan style kitchen that serves up some of the tastiest food on the island from early morning until late evening on a daily basis. The original Ibiza Rocks Shop is also located within the bar, offering a glittering array of iconic fashions for those looking to stand out from the crowd during their stay in Ibiza. With an amazing mix of music, regular appearances from world famous DJ’s, a cocktail menu and drinks selection to die for, and a prime location situated on the beach on the main strip through San Antonio, a visit to the Ibiza Rocks Bar is an essential part of any trip to the White Isle.
