It's a brand new year... Meaning another huge summer in Ibiza to look forward to. To celebrate, we take a look at 5 artists who are set to make their mark on the White Isle for the upcoming season.

Fred again..

No introduction needed

He’s produced for the likes of Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Eminem, Aitch & Rita Ora, but Fred Again.. is undoubtedly best known for sampling voice notes, spoken poetry, lyrics, pretty much anything, and turning them into emotive dance anthems.

Fred played his first ever live show in 2021, but already had a Brit Award to his name from winning Best British Producer the year prior. 2022 saw him burst into the mainstream with the now-iconic Boiler Room set which has amassed over 10 million views plus the release of ‘Turn On The Lights again..’ alongside music royalty Swedish House Mafia.

The producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, DJ (basically he’s pretty talented), is yet to make his Ibiza debut but we’re fairly confident this summer it will happen. We don’t care when or where, but we’ll be there.

Eliza Rose

Do you wanna dance, baby?

Another incredibly talented individual who is also able to produce, sing, song-write and DJ is East London’s Eliza Rose.

Of course we can’t speak about Eliza without mentioning UK number 1 single ‘B.O.T.A. (Baddest of them All)’. The soundtrack of the summer, even your parents couldn’t help but sing along. Her rise to the top didn’t come from nothing though as Eliza spent over a decade working at the well-known Flashback Record Shop and has played festivals such as Eastern Electrics, Parklife & Outlook well ahead of B.O.T.A. hitting the charts.

Eliza is another artist yet to play Ibiza but with a new EP expected to be released in the early stages of the year, she will be in very high demand from venues all over the island by summer.

Ben Hemsley

Man of the people

Everyone loves Ben Hemsley and we don’t blame them, we do too! Cut from the same cloth as DC-10 resident and ‘Trick’ founder Patrick Topping.

The DJ & Producer from Newcastle is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about talents in the world of house music. With euphoric melodies, catchy vocals and hints of nostalgia for old school rave. Last summer’s release ‘Erase Me’ brings all of those elements together and creates amazing moments under the sun, just go check out his Creamfields set (here about 2:45:00 in).

Unlike Fred Again.. and Eliza Rose, Ben Hemsley has in fact made his Balearic bow, playing at Amnesia, DC-10, Eden and even Ibiza Rocks in 2022. Let’s see if he’s able to tick any more venues off in 2023.

Nia Archives

Representing Jungle & DnB

No one is making waves in the electronic music scene right now more than Nia Archives. Recently receiving a nomination for the Brits Critics’ Choice Award and also becoming the first winner of the MOBO’s Best Electronic/Dance, this highlights just how far Nia has already come but also how much potential she has to be the face of Jungle & DnB.

Her soft, soulful voice, comparable to Jorja Smith, works perfectly over tracks such as ‘Forbidden Feelingz’ and ‘Headz Gone West’ and she’s even put her own twist on Brazilian dance anthem ‘Baianá’.

Another artist still to make their Ibiza debut but with Drum and Bass making a return to Ibiza in 2022 with Eden’s night ‘Louder’, it only makes sense for Nia to make her mark on the White Isle in 2023.

Skin On Skin

Techno from down under

Have you made it as a producer and DJ if you haven’t had a break-through Boiler Room set? This was certainly the case for Australian-born Skin on Skin who announced himself at 2022’s AVA Festival.

There is an emerging sub-genre in the electronic dance music scene which combines drill and techno, Skin On Skin is certainly leading that charge and nothing shines a spotlight on this more than his August release ‘Burn Dem Bridges’. Sampling the unexpected lyrics with Sav’o and Horrid1’s ‘Violent Siblings’ to create what feels like a futuristic track and of course was quickly picked up by the weird and wonderful world that is TikTok.

Skin On Skin is certainly ready to bring his unique sound to Ibiza, the venue/club night though is a question we don’t know the answer to just yet but one we will keeping a very close eye on when the event announcements start dropping soon.
