ADIOS SUMMER ’18
As we round up what has been our most spectacular summer to date, we wave goodbye to sunshine and poolside antics whilst clinging onto our memories as we await the next season.
It may still be early doors, but we here at Rocks HQ are already getting geared up with the excitement of returning residencies, new talent, venue overhauls and so much more!
So as we get knee deep into the winter months, dreaming of the White Isle, the weather here gets colder but we will be bringing you the hottest news, whispers and rumours of the coming summer season.
AMNESIA FOR 2019
After huge announcements of lengthy residencies shifting venues from one of the islands dominating clubs, everyone was unsure as to how the newbies would fit into the island clubbing landscape at their new home of Amnesia.
Pyramid took centre stage on Mondays following Cocoons departure to Pacha and the old Cream Thursday slot was filled by none other than the Do Not Sleep family and Abode uniting forces at the historic venue.
The rest of the weeks’ roster as follows, Tuesday nights were billed by D’n’B leaders Together, Wednesdays saw a mix of Vibra! and Es Puma Foam Party and Fridays rolled over with Carolas’ techno wonderland; Music On. The weekend saw Saturdays taken over for the second year by the almighty Elrow and Sundays were left off the rota.
Does a empty Sunday slot suggest there is a shift away from the nighttime club scene? Noticeably many a club night dance floors appeared somewhat quieter this summer.. Could this signal a reshuffle in the event scheduling for the iconic Ibiza institution? We are hot on the whispers of this, keep it locked and we will keep you in the loop!
From that unrivalled closing party in 2016, the dust has never fully settled nor have the Chinese whispers of the brands return, even once Hï took the reins, showcasing its state of the art glamour in 2017. Its lengthy and authentic heritage has enabled the brand to grow from strength to strength even without the nightclub at the forefront of its helm.
So it has come as no surprise towards the end of the 2018 season that our attention was diverted to the newly erected billboard on the island. Not only from this but simultaneously the king himself Carl Cox, then announced alongside Space mogel, Pepe Rosello, island promoter Dave Browning and GM Juan Arenas that those four key players were to reunite and create the next chapter.
Moving forward, we are expecting in the near future to see the same vibe and essence that the brand has become so loved and well-known for, but in a new home.. Where on the island that will be.. well with San Antonio rising we would love to see it as another addition to our homeland!
This summer saw the venue go through a mix of times and now we are all wondering what the future holds for Sankeys? The club signed off their 2018 season at the end of September, which was noticeably quieter than previous years and now the rumour mill is ticking over with whispers back and forth about its future..
However, the one thing we know for certain is Sankeys has held a strong identity on the island for hosting some of the hottest parties we have seen, and even the brainchild of Shelter was born between the brand and ourselves.
Stay tuned as we keep you all in the loop as we await more information to drop!
HOME IS WHERE SAN ANTONIO IS..
Waving goodbye to an era of Ocean Beach, our San An neighbours have now introduced to us their newly rebranded O Beach; the same location and party offering, but under a new name for the 2019 season.
After another summer smashed and whilst on the subject it isn’t like we could leave ourselves out now is it?
MARK YOUR CALENDARS as on Friday 17th May 2019 we will be hosting our 2019 Opening Party! Not only this, but stay tuned for some more exciting news about our summer 2019 plans dropping soon..
