Ibiza is an island that is more than just the party; from the stunning history to be explored up in the old town, to the idyllic beaches curing hangovers all year long. One thing that is hard to miss is when someone you know has been to Ibiza and quickly uploads the inevitable sunset shot. That perfect scene of orange hues showing the Ibiza sunshine signing off at the end of on another day in white isle paradise. Often there’s the typical ‘cheers’ pose or the love-heart-hand originally located on your friends new Facebook Ibiza sunset cover photo but why is this such a thing?

The answer is a simple one, the Ibiza sunset is genuinely one of the best in the world. The culture of pre-drinks alongside sunset as you get ready for your next adventure or the heavy hearted toast to the best week of your life is what Ibiza is all about. With this in mind, we’ve put together our guide for where is best to experience this mighty view during your stay this summer.

Snapchat at the ready here are our #RocksRecommends sunset destinations

Rooftop Nine is your 4* destination bar for some seriously special sunset scenes in San Antonio Bay. Brand new in 2016 on top of the Sol House Ibiza Mixed By Ibiza Rocks Hotel, this is the only open-air rooftop bar on the island which boasts unrivalled views of the Ibiza sunset. Featuring luxury beds and loungers to chill on, a diverse drinks menu (particularly popular with gin fans) and a chill-out atmosphere making this the perfect location for your day to night transition.

Cafe Mambo & the sunset strip is a must experience for anyone staying at Ibiza Rocks Hotel or Ibiza Rocks Budget Apartments this summer as it’s only a short walk from the hotels!

The beauty of experiencing the sunset at the iconic Cafe Mambo is the soundtrack that comes alongside as a big name in the DJ world plays there every night throughout peak season, from Pete Tong to MK. You can hear them and experience their club pre-party for free just by enjoying dinner or drinks on their sunset terrace. Get ready to clap as the sun blissfully sets on another perfect day in Ibiza.

Round up the squad, do a booze run and take yourself down to the rocks in front of Cafe Mambo to enjoy the sunset, tunes and atmosphere in the most authentic way possible.

Es Vedra is sunset goals, fact! It’s one of Ibiza’s mysteriously magical landmarks. Standing at 400 meters above sea level, it is hinted at being the third most magnetic spot in the world. This mythical rock omits an unmissable energy force in arguably one of the most beautiful scenes you can imagine.

We recommend to hire a car for this one as it’s a bit of a mission to get to but it will totally be worth the journey.

This one is a bit of a hidden gem. Golden Buddha is located no more than a 5 minute walk from the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and neatly tucked away alongside the San Antonio marina path. It’s the perfect location to take a minute to breath and relish the environment around you. Sprawling sofas, straw umbrellas, gold buddha status aplenty and a lengthy drinks menu will help you soak up the views.

People and sunset watching at its best right here!

Located over in San Antonio Bay, near the Sol House Ibiza Mixed By Ibiza Rocks, this is another chilled out hub perfect for sunset scenes and hair-of-the-dog cocktails.

Service, atmosphere and restaurant menu are on point here! Relaxed sunset vibes set against a spiritual and cultured background, this one pays tribute to the hippy history on the island. Expect more than just the sounds of dance music for a more authentically diverse music selection.

As you stumble out of the likes of Hï Ibiza or Sankeys into the early hours, finish your night beautifully by grabbing a few more beers and pulling up a perch on Bora Bora Beach.

The Playa D’en Bossa hotspot known for it’s daytime party vibes and Sunday sessions is the perfect spot to watch Ibiza’s equally beautiful sunrise. One for the ravers and one for those wanting extra experiences from their Ibiza trip.
