hike-from-cala-conta-to-cala-tarida-south-west-ibiza-307

GOODBYE TO MYTHS, HELLO TO THE WHITE ISLE..

Perfectly positioned on a short haul flight away in the Med and well-known as the holy grail of clubbing, Ibiza is a wonderland for any holidaymaker. Those looking to experience authentic clubbing on a multitude of levels and genres will not be left short of choice from the Spanish islands diverse party-scene.

WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE?

Yet along with its established title many holidaymakers are put off with the longstanding associations of high cost of a holiday on the White Isle amongst other things, with many ruling out the option before their search would have begun.

So let us break it down for you and show you why you should make Ibiza your holiday destination this summer. In the words of Fatboy Slim, right here and right now..

1. IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE

Like with everything, depending on your needs, taste or wants Ibiza offers a pool of options.. price tag depending. However many often make the misconception that Ibiza is too expensive for a holiday given the typical speech of the hefty ticket prices to clubs, drinks and more. But the truth is, Ibiza is no more expensive than its party holiday destination competitors and you don’t have to dig far to find a good deal.

For accommodation there are lists of options, room types and prices depending on your needs. Whether you want a basic room just for sleeping and showering or if you want a room with a view (say Sonny Fodera dropping sun-drenched beats at Cuckoo Land) prices start from as little as £34 per person per night.

For entrance to clubs, our advice? EARLY BIRD. If you sign up to a particular event or travel offers you will be notified of any announcements or early bird ticket sales… meaning you can get your club tickets for almost half the price of standard entry!

Last but obviously not least, drinks. Yes, this one is fact however, our advice on this; avoid the 20€ vodka and coke bill and stock up at your local supermarket beforehand. In Ibiza you can grab yourself a bottle of nearly any spirit for 10€, split that between you and your mates in your hotel room for pre’s! The result? Save yourself the dollars for the following days hangover Chicken Pitta.

2. IT’S ONLY FOR THOSE WHO LOVE TECH

Often people think Ibiza is just for those who are young and love an 8-hour techno rave. This is where we inform you otherwise. Ibiza has hedonistic values and no boundaries on age or genres. Whether you are 18 or 38, from deep disco, tech, house, RnB to rock, it has it all.

More importantly is the experience you get, Ibiza has its own offering of the west-end (a typical strip of bars) but you can go to any party island and find these. What makes Ibiza a standout and year on year tourist hotspot is the islands musical ethos. You get to experience DJ’s, artists and bands, in some of the world’s most famous clubs where they frequently drop new music, play back to back or have surprise guests.

So, whether you are gassed about seeing Chase and Status for a rave in a cave or to see Craig David remix his garage classics with new music at his TS5 pool parties, expect next level. Check out the events and island club calendar and see what events fit your taste and mark them on your to-do.

Those moments where the music climaxes, confetti cannons shoot and you and your mates are covered in a sea of glitter and your favourite tune drops. Those are the moments Ibiza is renowned for.

3. IT HAS A LIMITED TIME FRAME

Luckily with Ibiza another aspect of its variety is the time frame in which you can visit. Starting in May and all the way through till the end of September each week clubs offer party goers a selection of events of all tastes, leaving you spoilt for choice.

July and August are firm favourites with those looking to experience hot weather and even hotter parties, expect a little more in price.

Another all round favourite is September, when the island cools down but the parties are still on fire.

4. IT’S JUST BRITS GETTING WRECKED ABROAD

When the word Ibiza is mentioned the first thought across some people’s mind are images of people being sick in bins on street corners, empty bottles all over the floor and general party mess. However, it is quite the opposite. We can’t promise that you won’t find the occasional punter throwing up on a street corner, but we can promise that it has surpassed island cleanliness tests in recent years.

Often tainted with the bad rep due to its popularity with the Brits and the awful tagline of ‘Brits abroad’, San An really is some-what of a little gem. Around the resort there are frequent cleaners and the West-end is cleaned thoroughly every morning after the party-goers move on. This extends further to the extent of beaches; the islands public health department issue inspectors to nearly all the islands beaches and daily checks are in place to make sure the sands and seas are litter-free.

ROCKS RECOMMENDS…

This all goes hand-in-hand with proving the islands general attitude to preserving its full glory on every level, but don’t just take our word for it, book and come and see first hand for yourself.

5. IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT THE CLUBS..  BUT IT IS A BIG PART

There is a strong chance if you’re travelling to Ibiza, you are travelling to the island for its notorious party-scene. From the freshest music talent at day-time destinations to the power stance of long-standing clubs on the island and their iconic residents.. Ibiza has it all.

It has also seen a growth in the diversity of its options of partying in recent years, but the mantra of holidaymakers from around the globe coming to unite over the love of music, still makes for some of the best events in the world. Not only this but the islands clubbing heritage also strengthens this, as many popular super clubs and events hold the same titles as they did from 30 years ago.

ROCKS RECOMMENDS…

So as we step into spring, the summer party calendar is filling up! Enriched with super-club events, brand new pool parties and some of the world’s most legendary artists meaning 2018 is going to be a big year for the island! Along with many positive changes and new dynamics for the party scene, it is a strong contender to be the best so far.
