The Newcomers Rule Over Ibiza Rocks
4 August 2010
A new generation of Ibiza Rocks exploded last night as UK favourites Chase & Status, Tinie Tempah and Example wowed fans with an unrivalled night of White Isle entertainment.
The past few weeks at the Hotel had belonged to established acts, but it was in with the new on Tuesday with two up-and-coming acts blowing the minds of the heaving crowd.
Having already played Mallorca Rocks in July, Tinie Tempah knew what to expect, but even he must have been blown away with the reaction from a buzzing crowd that were hanging on his every word.
As well as covering Lady Gaga he managed to fit in a couple of wardrobe changes too, but the highlight for everyone was his massive chart anthem, 'Pass Out'.
Chase & Status stepped to the stage with quite an act to follow, but such is their pedigree they surpassed all expectations to do so with aplomb.
Inciting pandemonium across the courtyard, the entire area was transformed into a mosh-pit as track after track of high-energy classics filled the air. There was little time for respite as MC Rage's vocals and the incredible visual show on the LED screen gave onlookers a nigh-on complete audio-visual experience.
At the Es Paradis After Show, it was the return of Example & DJ Wire, who put on another fine display, showing just why they are currently one of the UK's hottest properties.
As always, fans couldn't believe their luck that they were getting all this for the price of a gig ticket, and danced the night away with Cheshire cat grins permanently fixed on their faces.
And, what with the BBC Radio 1 Live event coming up on Friday at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, and The Kooks on Tuesday, it's all systems go for Ibiza Rocks!
