The Kooks Debut New Album At Ibiza Rocks
12 August 2010
For a second year in a row The Kooks came, saw and conquered the White Isle at Ibiza Rocks on Tuesday night.
The cosmopolitan crowd were treated to a raft of new tracks from the Brighton boys who were on top form and had their adoring fans salivating at the prospect of a new album out in the coming months.
At one stage an unseasonal downpour looked like spoiling the fun (and hairdos) for the typically well-styled crowd, but their worries were short-lived and the rain proved no more than a sprinkling to keep their nodding heads that little bit cooler.
Frightened Rabbit have already received a plethora of plaudits for their expressive song-writing, and treated all those arriving early to a spectacular performance.
The now-prestigious warm-up slot is fast becoming the best place to witness greatness before its time, and Tuesday was no different with the Scottish band even managing to pull off an atmospheric cover of 'Set You Free' by N-Trance...
In the DJ-booth Doorly was on fire as ever and co-resident Nicola Bear lent her own mood-enhancing prowess to proceedings with a characteristically upfront set.
The Propaganda DJs then showcased their skills on the turntables, smashing classic after classic to get the crowd in gear for the After Show at Es Paradis, where they continued well past the witching hour for those having too much fun to call it a night.
Next up LCD Soundsystem - time to 'Dance Yrself Clean'!
