Ben Howard Ibiza homecoming tonight
4 July 2012
Tonight, we're proud to welcome another of Britain’s biggest rising stars to the Rocks stage as the phenomenally talented Ben Howard takes over Ibiza Rocks
2011 for Ben Howard was, in his own understated words, “quite hectic”. In the space of just twelve short months, he inked a record deal, recorded and released his awesome debut album, Every Kingdom, and soon found himself propelled into the UK Top 10 and beyond.
With sold out shows across the globe and a string of big Festival dates planned this summer including Bonnaroo, Radio 1 Hackney Weekend, Latitude, T in the Park, V and Bestival fans in Ibiza will get to enjoy his stunning live show in the sun kissed intimate setting of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in July.
Speaking about playing Ibiza Rocks for the first time Ben said:
"Without a doubt, Ibiza is one of my favourite places on the planet. I've been to the island every year of my life and I’m genuinely stoked to get there for a big show. My Grandad opened one of the first bars on the old port so that's my little claim to fame over there. Great to be part of the whole Ibiza Rocks vibe, Ibiza's always had a big gap when it comes to bands with guitars so it's great to be included really. I can't wait." Neither can we!
Joining Ben for another stellar night under the Balearic stars we are pleased to welcome back DJ Rob da Bank. Radio 1 supreme, curator of the awesome Bestival and awesome DJ in his own right, Rob has hit the decks at Ibiza Rocks many times over the years playing with The Enemy at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel first ever show in 2008 as well as with The Prodigy at our 5th birthday in 2010. We can’t wait to have him back on stage this summer.
Talking about his return Rob said: “I've been playing at Ibiza Rocks since it started and injected a much needed different vibe into Ibiza party life. Ive loved playing many times since and cant wait to get back to that crazy hotel and warm it up for the brilliant Ben Howard. Ibiza Rocks bloody well rocks!”
Rounding off one of the summer's must see line ups is new music sensation Jake Bugg. Championed by Rocks own Music Director Zane Lowe, Jake is on the right track to be one of this year’s best breakthrough artists. Producing music way beyond his years in the mould of Bob Dylan & Don Maclean.
This is one night you wont want to miss
